June
San Francisco Real Estate Market Update for
May 2006

The San Francisco Real Estate Market for May showed slightly more activity than April. Although inventories are being reported as increasing (see Avram Goldman's report for the week of May 15th - 21st), the demand remains high. Compared to last year, it is the first time in long time that number of homes sold and selling prices have not been higher. Even so, the demand for homes still continues to drive the selling price higher than the listing price. As with previous months, properties that are priced right continue to generate multiple offers.

As a new feature, we are sharing a weekly update from Avram Goldman, President and COO of Coldwell Banker, San Francisco Bay Area about the San Francisco Real Estate market. Read what he says here.

The number of Single Family Homes sold for May was virtually the same as April in the San Francisco Real Estate Market . The average selling price was nearly 105% of the listing price. And the average selling price was slightly over the average selling price in April.

The number of Condominiums sold in May in the San Francisco Real Estate Market increased from last month. The average selling price for May was an incredible 109.6% of the average selling price for April.

Overall Sales for May in San Francisco Real Estate were up from the previous month. The average listing and selling price both increased from April as well.
