October 2010 Report
San Francisco Real Estate Market Update for
September 2010
For a list of past market reports click here
The number of homes in the Overall Sales category sold in September decreased from August for the San Francisco Real Estate Market as well as a year ago. Single family homes priced under $2M once again had an average selling price OVER 100% of the average listing price. The average days on the market rose slightly over August as well as a year ago.
What do these numbers all mean? It looks like the cooling off is not just in our San Francisco weather. The market had some bright spots with single family homes that were priced under $2M leading the pack at over 100 of the listing price. This makes them the best performing sector showing over asking price sales for 7 of the last 8 months.
* Remember, closed sales in any month reflect deals ratified in the previous month with a typical 30 day close.
Mortgage rates are always changing. Foster Weeks does a weekly mortgage update which is posted on our blog.
