The San Francisco real estate market is a unique animal. While the rest of the country is still in a lull, buyers here are starting to find themselves in multiple offer situations again. Last month's sales figures showed that the winning category was single family homes under $2M where average sales prices was over 100% of the listing price. Could this be a sign of things to come? We shall see.

For our friends out of the area who are thinking about moving to San Francisco, I would like to talk about one of our listings, a very special property in a prime Russian Hill location.

Ski season is here, and Lake Tahoe is a perfect weekend or weeklong getaway, close to Alpine Meadows and several other ski areas. We have a Lake View condo -- a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath condominium available for rent in Tahoe City at Tahoe Marina Lodge, a lake front complex. This unit has panoramic lake and mountain views yet is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Tahoe is an excellent place to get away from the fast pace of city life and enjoy nature. We also have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath first floor one level condo at St. Francis Lakeside in Tahoe City which we are eager to find renters. Our current tenants' lease expires at the end of November, and we would LOVE to find a great long term rental or ski lease for the winter! San Francisco is often used as a location for movies. Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon were recently a block away from Nob Hill filming a new movie called "Hereafter", a supernatural thriller centered on three people -- a blue-collar American, a French journalist and a London school boy -- who are touched by death in different ways.

Our friend and client, Ann, told us that several times she and her husband had gone to Carmel to see Clint at his restaurant, Mission Ranch, but she was never lucky enough to catch him there. One night here in San Francisco, after going to dinner with a mutual friend, Jo, she and her husband were dropping off Jo at her home on Nob Hill when Ann noticed a movie being shot at Huntington Park.  There was Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon!  She was talking to one of the police officers and he encouraged her to go up and talk to Clint in the Nob Hill Cafe during a break in shooting.  She said hello and he was most gracious.  That made her day!
