Hello from Janis!

After reviewing the numbers in our April market report for March activity one thing's for sure; our real estate sales are doing quite well. Sales for March almost doubled from February as well as from one year ago! Despite disappointing economic news and poor sales in other areas of the country, San Francisco real estate marches to its own beat.

Traditionally Spring is the strongest selling season in the year.  There are several reasons for this.  First of all spring is when the flowers start to bloom and the rain stops (we hope) so emotionally we tend to feel more positive and energetic.  Of course that positive attitude comes in handy because it is tax time---and a personal residence is still the best tax shelter we have left.  It is also the time when families find out if their children were accepted into the different schools.  In other words, it is decision time.  Interest rates are VERY good and that can save you thousands of dollars every year.  Combined with good inventory this spring is shaping up to be one of the best markets in years.

Ski season is almost over, and Lake Tahoe is a perfect weekend or weeklong getaway. We have a Lake View condo -- a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath condominium available for rent in Tahoe City at Tahoe Marina Lodge, a lake front complex.
