Friends and associates!
Can you believe that summer is almost officially gone? Of course, here in San Francisco, we are coming into the months of September and October where we get our best weather. This is because the fog usually leaves us when temperatures inland start to decline during Fall.
Last week we attended the Coldwell Banker Elite Retreat in Chicago where the best agents from all over the country meet for 4 days to discuss the state of their markets, to learn about new trends and technology and to share marketing ideas with each other. What we learned from these other Realtors is that, though the market is definitely slowing down, prices are not dropping in the luxury market. The most hurt by this slowdown in the mid-range homes. Comments we heard were, "We've reached a more normal market."
Coming up in November is the National Association of Realtors Conference in New Orleans where we will again meet with Realtors, not just from Coldwell Banker, but from all brokerages around the world to whom we can refer friends and family in other areas. Because of our participation, these events have been a great referral network for us and our clients. If you or someone you know needs to buy or sell property in San Francisco or another area of the country, keep us in mind. We know a lot of great, reliable agents! In return for the lead, we'll give you a chance to win our Rewards for RE-ferrals contest.
As for our market, the San Francisco Real Estate Market for August held steady from July in the numbers of properties sold, but not in the selling prices. As average selling prices continue to be over 100% of the listing prices, it indicates that values are still holding strong. In our office alone there we over 16 ratified deals last week which indicates that the buyers are still out there.
Instead of waiting for our monthly report, our blog has a weekly report from Avram Goldman, President and COO of Coldwell Banker, San Francisco Bay Area. If you would like to receive an e-mail alert when his report is updated, send a note to info@SFResidence.com with "weekly market report" in the subject line. We also post daily on the blog with articles, information and reports about other markets.
In closing, we'd like to thank those of you who
helped us sponsor Habitat
for Humanity. This year was a tremendous
success.
See you next month!
